1st October 2007
When Oulton Ales told me that they could no longer bottle Against the Grain, I was at a loss to know where to turn. However Tom Mellor of Wold Top Brewery agreed to take over production and now after the necessary tests and certification we are back in production.  I expect the first deliveries to be going out during the second week of October and those of you who have been so patient will receive a little something extra in your order.

If you scroll down to Gold Fassl you will find that this is also certified now and although it  is classified as a lager you will find it is has a far superior taste to the usual supermarket or pub lagers.  So for an occasional change why not try a mixed case of Against the Grain and Gold Fassl
at £21.00 per case + carriage I think you will be delighted.

27th June 2007
After rather a long wait the latest brew of bottled Against the Grain has been received and shipped out to the waiting orders.  As you know the ingredients have to be carefully selected and we had a hold up with the special malt that we use that has now been resolved and we are into brewing the next batch which will include 5 x 18 gallon casks for the Great British Beer Festival at Earls Court from 7th -11th August.  I will be attending on trade day and will have a few spare tickets, so if you would like to join me and taste Against the Grain on draught please let me know.

We are very proud to supply the winner of  this year's National Perfect Family Pub, The King's Head Letheringsett in Norfolk, with their first order of bottles. David & Pam Watts already include glutenfree items on their menu so Against the Grain will complement their beer selection.

Wine of Course in High St Ongar and Archway Rd, Highgate N5 are stocking bottled Against the Grain

16th May 2007
the Angel Inn, Dronfield, South Yorkshire, regularly has Against the Grain on draught as well as in bottles. When the quiz teams see it there is a scrum at the bar to get their favourite tipple to lubricate the little grey cells.
Two more pubs are serving Against the Grain in bottles and 2 more have added cask Against the Grain to their regular guest list.
The Fat Cat at Norwich has both cask and bottled, The Hare & Hounds at Birch, nr Colchester takes a cask from each brewing and the winner of the National Perfect Family pub of the year is adding bottles to their range.
The Beer-Box in Worthing now has Against the Grain in bottles on the recommendation of a customer who tried it at the Great British Beer Festival last August.

A copy of email received this week from the States
"Please advise me when you are able to ship to the US.  I know a distributor in Indiana who is offering every gluten free beer he can get.  We Hooisers are thirsty here in Indiana. FYI - I visited the UK a couple of years ago, sampling all the beers available there. And I have had most of the here in US. I can tell you, Against the Grain is the most flavourful of the lot.  I look forward to seeing your beer here.  Kelly Vogt"

8th June 2006
When an order of Against the Grain was returned to our depot, I emailed the regular customer to see why it had been sent back.
This is the reply I received-
"Yes, sorry! We were on holiday when the precious shipment arrived........ I can say with great certainty that my boyfriend is very much looking forward to cracking open a bottle of what is definitely the best gluten-free beer out there! "  Kate De Right  (Foodie Magazine)

We are doing our best to export this beer to USA but we are coming up against their labelling regulations and at present we cannot ship this beer to the States, but don't worry with help from an agent in New York we hope to get this sorted out and then all systems will be go for export. If you register your interest with us we will inform you when the beer becomes available!!

Here's what some members think of Against the Grain,
Stuart Towner 30 Nov 05 'Just to let you know the 'Against the Grain' brew is just great, I'll certainly be ordering more. thanks  for your help with my first order'  Since then Stuart has ordered 6 more cases, just in case he runs out.  He says in a subsequent email that it reminds him of Youngs Ordinary and Shepherd Neame  with a hoppy nose and well rounded bitter flavour.

'Dr S.F'  10 December 05  'I was very surprised by your brew, which I opened to find it was ..well..."blond". This was a bit of a shock, as I expected ( and usually go for ) a darker brew.  Beggars can't be choosers, I thought, but I have to say I really enjoyed it. A few days later, I sampled another GF brew, to remain nameless, which wasn't a patch on ATG.  Very Good . Very Tasty'  Since then 'Dr SF'  has been full of praise for our beer and would like to represent us in his part of the country
